How can Clarington make it easier for you to cycle, walk, or roll to get around the community? Let’s create a safe, accessible, and well-connected active transportation network in Clarington.

What is active transportation?

Active transportation refers to any mode of travel that uses a person’s own power to move. This includes walking, cycling, using a wheelchair or mobility device, jogging, skateboarding, rollerblading, scootering and more. You may even think of a local unicyclist getting around Clarington on one wheel! New electric devices, such as e-bikes and e-scooters, often share active transportation infrastructure.

Active transportation facilities refer to built infrastructure that supports safe active transportation. This can include sidewalks, bike lanes, cycle tracks and multi-use paths.
